Whoever said the news cycle is shorter than a New York minute had yet to encounter the media gift that keeps on giving - that is the Tiger Woods saga. Former Baltimore Sun sports writer, David Steele, wrote this piece for NPR. We were fortunate enough to get permission to reprint it. In the piece, Steele does an excellent job of bringing us down from the stratosphere of the cult of personality of Woods to the ground or rather the ‘course’ where Tiger’s true impact lies.
We wonder: What does it say about our society when the top three news stories of 2009 are Obama’s inauguration, Michael Jackson’s death and Tiger Woods’s infidelity?
